aval
Aval Payasam
Ingredients:
- Aval - 1 cup
- Milk - 2 cups
- Powdered jaggery - 1/4 cup
- Elachi powder - pinch
- Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
- Broken cashew - 1 tbsp
- Ghee - 1 tbsp
Method:
- Soak aval in water for 5 minutes. Drain water and keep aval aside.
- In a pan, add ghee and roast cashews, keep this aside. Again in the same ghee roast coconut.
- Heat milk in a pan until it becomes thick, now add jaggery and elachi powder to it.
- When jaggery is mixed well, add cashews and coconut, and finally aval, heat this for 5 mins.
- Serve this hot or cold. Add little milk while serving as the aval payasam thickens quickly.
