Vella seedai
Ingredients:
- Rice flour - 1 cup
- Urad dal - 2 tbsp
- White sesame seeds - 1 tsp
- Powdered jaggery -1 cup
- Grated coconut - 2 tbsp
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
- Oil for frying
Method:
- Dry roast urad dal and grind it nicely into powder.
- Boil jaggery with 1/4 cup water and switch off the stove once the jaggery completely melts.
- Sieve the rice flour and urad dal flour together, add this to a bowl, then mix white sesame seeds, grated coconut, and cardamom powder.
- Now filter the jaggery water and add this to all other ingredients.
- Knead all the ingredients into soft dough. Make small balls lightly bigger than the uppu seedai.
- Fry these seedai balls in oil and store this in airtight container.
